Sicilian Excursions

We provide you with qualified experts and interpreters of native English, in order to visit the most interesting touristic, archaeological and historical sites of western Sicily.

We invite you to book excursions for the same time of your stay, and in any case, at least one week in advance. All trips depart from our Resort. Minimum, six participants.

Water Taxi
Exclusive service. Boat trips along the coast with a stop for swimming in the rocky coves or in the Capo Feto Reserve, accessible only by sea. Rates to be arranged on the basis of stops and travel time.

Fishing trips
Dawn departure from Mazara’s pier, or in the evening illuminated by fishing lamps, for a unique experience with the local fishermen. Participants will be provided fishing lines and bait. The trips last from four to five hours and are recommended only for those who do not suffer from seasickness. The cost depends on the type of boat selected and starts at €45 per person.

Mazara del Vallo
Guided tour of the city of Mazara, from the Bronze Age to the Phoenicians, from the Arabs to the Normans. The history and architecture of the Casbah, the statue of the Dancing Satyr, the Museums, the Cathedral, the Diocese and the churches, Garibaldi Theatre, the Port and Mazara’s economy. From €35 per person.

Selinunte and Segesta
Departure by coach to the quarries of Cusa. We proceed to Selinunte Archaeological Park and the nature reserve at the mouth of the Belice where we stop at the 'Tenuta Venezia' for lunch. Taste homemade Sicilian specialties, prepared according to tradition, in a beautiful Tenuta of Castelvetrano, with its own farm. Departure for a visit to Segesta to discover the magic of the Greek Theatre. Complete journey 190 km. Return in the late afternoon. From €98 per person.


Agrigento
Guided tour of the Greek colony of Akragas, with its acropolis and magnificent temple. The following destination is the colony of Heraclea Minoa. Stop for photos at the Scala dei Turchi (the Turkish Steps). Spectacular rock formations which owe their name to pirate raids. Next we'll move on to today's Agrigento to get acquainted and enjoy a lunch of fish and local specialties. Then we depart for Contrada Chaos, where we visit the home of the famous Sicilian playwright Luigi Pirandello. Round trip 240 km. Return in the late afternoon. From €100 per person.

Marsala
Departure for Marsala and a visit to the island of Mothya and its museum,  navigating the Stagnone Lagoon and lunch along the Via del Vino, in one of the most famous wineries in the area. Visit to the Florio Tonnara  and an excursion by car to discover the most scenic views over the salt pans of Marsala.  80 km in total.  From €90 per person.

Palermo
Visit the Sicilian capital. The Cathedral, the Arab-Norman monuments, picturesque markets, baroque squares, the "promenade". Stop for lunch at Mondello, Palermo’s popular seaside town, where you can enjoy shellfish, octopus, mussels and fresh fish. A visit to the hunting lodge of Bourbon King Ferdinand, the splendid Chinese Palace in the Parco della Favorita. Visit Villa Whitaker, a jewel of the belle époque era. Dinner at the focacceria of St. Francesco, where you can enjoy famous Palermo specialties, from pane e panelle to sfincione and pane con la milza (spleen). A total of 300 kilometers. Favignana
Departure from Marsala’s pier, where you'll embark to spend the day on Favignana Island. Snacks on board, swimming in the coves, returning in the late afternoon. The tour is organized by local tour companies. Prices vary depending on choice of boat and number of participants. Return in the evening. Taxi by request. The excursion can be booked on the spot.


Zingaro Nature Reserve
Departure from Marsala’s pier, where you will embark on a tour to the beautiful Marine Nature Reserve. Snacks on board, swimming in the coves, returning in the late afternoon. The tour is organized by local tour companies. Prices vary depending on the boat selected and number of participants. Return in the evening. Taxi by request. The excursion can be booked on the spot.

Villa del Casale
Early morning departure for the marvellous Roman villa of the late imperial era. Protected by UNESCO since 1997, it once belonged to a member of the senatorial aristocracy, perhaps a Roman Governor, according to some scholars it was, however, built and expanded by direct orders of the imperial commission. It can be considered one of the most significant examples of Dwelling Representation for its beauty and complexity. Stop for lunch in the pleasant town of Piazza Armerina. Medieval fortress of the Altavilla domination. Return in the evening by bus 600 km round trip. From €120 per person.

Shopping in Rome
Exclusive service. Departure in the morning and return in the evening. Dedicated to those who are traveling in Italy and would like to enjoy a day of shopping in the most exclusive streets of the capital, in search of new Italian High Fashion proposals. You will be escorted by our driver to Trapani or Palermo airports. Upon arrival in Rome at Fiumicino or Ciampino airports, a rented car with driver will await you, with permission to enter Rome’s historic centre. He will take you to Via dei Condotti and accompany you along the way, according to your wishes. The cost of the excursion is from 200 euros per person, the price does not include airfare, which varies in cost depending on time of booking. We advise to book this tour at least 15 days in advance.
